Messy Adventures in Living ~ Petrina Fava Radio Show

Do you or your child have anxiety? Are you a teacher? A parent? A kid?

Would you be willing to throw away all your definitions and conclusions about anxiety, at least for an hour? Together with my guest Dean Larson, we’ll be looking at the effects of anxiety on learning and how can we change them with some simple techniques.

Dean began tutoring and teaching students with learning problems in 1998 after a 25 year career as a counselor for adults and adolescents with addictions. In 1998, he began working in a tutoring business, which led to the opening of an accredited “Special Function” high school.

Using the methods and processes he had been teaching as an Access Consciousness Facilitator and his experience as a counselor, Dean facilitated his students in achieving incredible success, in most cases, very quickly.

One of the problems among his students was anxiety, something Dean was familiar with on a personal level. What if eradicating a child’s anxiety is easier than you think? What if it starts with you?

Dean Larson bio: Dean began tutoring and teaching students who had learning problems in 1998 after a 25 year career as a counselor for adults and adolescents with addiction problems and their families. In 1998, he began working members of his family in a tutoring business, a move that led to the opening of an accredited “Special Function” high school for students who were unable to thrive in regular schools. During that time, he taught and tutored students with every imaginable learning and life problem, from fetal alcohol syndrome to autism, mental health diagnoses to addiction.

After a number of years as a Certified Facilitator in Access Consciousness, teaching other people the tools of Access, in 2014, Dean began his own tutoring business. Over the ensuing three years, he spent over 3500 hours tutoring a students of all ages, preschool to adult, who had learning disabilities. Using the methods and processes he had been teaching as an Access Facilitator and his experience as a counselor, Dean facilitated his students in achieving incredible success, in most cases, very quickly.

One of the problems that kept arising among his students was anxiety, something that Dean was very familiar with on a personal level. He has put together tools and techniques to help students and their parents get rid of the roadblocks to learning that anxiety presents, and will be presenting a series of classes on how people can ease or eradicate their own anxiety.

Dean lives just outside of Houston Texas with his wife Sande, who is an artist and a teacher.  Visit his website – https://dleducate.com/
