What is a healthy body, anyway? You see all sorts of images and ads telling you what a healthy body “should” look like, but most of what you see on social media and in advertisements isn’t even remotely close to what a healthy body actually is. There’s a lot more to it than you may think. Did you know that many social media influencers, personal trainers, fitness models, and physique competitors are not only unhealthy, but many of them also deal with disordered eating? And the “Body Positivity Movement” may be leading many people down the wrong path. The human body is an extremely complex organism. While it’s partly true that “you are what you eat,” and getting enough exercise is an important factor in a healthy lifestyle, there are other things that can affect your health in more subtle but very important ways.
