Back in 2018, I facilitated a conversation on “Have You Been Told the World Would Be Better without People with Special Needs?” which opened the door to an exploration of the messaging we are told not just about people with special needs, but also about those from marginalized groups, different minorities and people with identities that are less understood or valued by mainstream society. A better world is possible when we illuminate ourselves on the implications of the messages we listen to, tell ourselves and pass on to future generations.
