TV – How To Heal For Real with Iboga ~ Ashana Jones & David O’Brien
What have you heard about Iboga? Thousands of people have overcome recurring depression, let go of crippling anxiety, moved past traumatic childhoods, ended fear, phobias, self-hate, self-sabotage and have gone on to heal aspects of themselves they didn’t think they ever could.
What if you could live with peace of mind and happiness in your heart no matter what has happened to you?
This has been Ashana and David’s experience. After searching for upwards of 3 decades for true and lasting healing, Ashana from Brooklyn, and David from Quebec, two completely different individuals, as different as black and white, found themselves in the jungles of Africa in a tiny village with no running water. A village full of happy, healthy humans where, for centuries, the indigenous people had been working with a sacred healing plant named Iboga. They will talk about their experiences as they share how they found the path to true and lasting healing and the Bwiti tradition under the tutelage of a 10th generation high Shaman in the jungles of Gabon and what is possible for those who choose the benefits of this nurturing medicine.
In this episode, join Siris Raquel Rivas-Verdejo with David O’Brien and Ashana Jones, founders of Ibogaworks, as we explore the tremendous impact this nurturing medicine has had in the lives of David and Ashana, who have now committed their lives to helping others with this Traditional African Spiritual Path and its sacred healing plant.
Hailing from Quebec, Canada, David had been studying personal development for years until his first experience with Iboga in 2017. The experience helped cure his PTSD, a result of his time as a Canadian Soldier in Afghanistan, healed his herniated disk, depression, and marijuana addiction.
His experience with Iboga was so extraordinary he knew right away this was how he wanted to help others find their healing. He went to the jungles of Gabon and graduated from his Iboga provider training under Moughenda Mikala. Now, as a N’ganga fully initiated into the Missoko tribe, his passion is to share the traditional Bwiti Iboga experience.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Ashana was the first African American initiated into the Missoko Bwiti Tradition. She went through the Rites of Passage and was trained by Moughenda Mikala, a 10th Generation Bwiti High Shaman, to be a Missoko Bwiti Maboundi (healer).
After trying Ayahuasca, magic mushrooms, MDMA and many other healing modalities, none of which did the job, she discovered Iboga. After a single session, it proved to be the one thing that provided the deepest healing possible. Iboga freed her from depression, self-hate and addiction. This experience completely changed her life. After her first experience with Iboga, she knew she had found what she had been looking for: her tradition, her tribe and her life’s work.
Ashana & David:
David and Ashana met at Moughenda Village in Gabon. Their shared love and respect for Iboga and the Bwiti tradition, as well as a powerful spiritual match, connected them. They founded Ibogaworks and have been providing Iboga together ever since.
Today they share the Bwiti teachings globally and enjoy witnessing the life-changing transformation and healing Iboga provides.
